Job summary

Catch22 in Consett is seeking a Lead Teacher to provide strong leadership and management on a dedicated site for 14-19 learners with complex needs.

You will manage the educational environment, oversee timetables, develop schemes of work, and support staff to deliver an aspirational curriculum while ensuring safety and compliance. Experience with safeguarding and line management is essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 5 or above teaching qualification preferably with QTS.
• Designated Safeguard Lead.
• Experience with a cohort of young people with complex needs and behaviours.
• Line management experience with KPI setting and supervisions.
• Knowledge of varied teaching, learning and behaviour strategies including personalised learning.

Responsibilities

• Teaching GCSEs in Maths and/or English.
• Build effective relationships with students and families.
• Manage and monitor timetable; deploy staff effectively.
• Oversee development of subject area.
• Plan and update schemes of work to meet curriculum and inspection requirements.
• Lead improvements in teaching and learning through observations.
