Job summary

Elite Executive Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to join a specialist college supporting young people with complex needs. You will balance classroom teaching with leadership, shaping the learning environment and guiding a dedicated team.

You’ll split time between delivering vocational-based teaching and leading curriculum development, student progress, and staff supervision. The role combines hands-on teaching with strategic leadership, within a supportive provision.

Qualifications

• QTS or be willing to work towards it.
• Experience working with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
• Experience of line management and setting KPIs, conducting supervisions.
• Strong understanding of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies.
• Ability to adapt and personalise learning for individual learners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the education provision across the site and drive teaching quality.
• Manage the timetable and ensure effective use of staff.
• Develop and oversee subject area curricula and schemes of work.
• Monitor learner performance data and implement improvements.
• Set targets and support staff to achieve them.
• Line manage staff with regular supervision and performance reviews.
• Support staff development, training and professional growth.
• Collaborate with the Centre Manager to maintain high standards.
• Create a safe, structured and motivating learning environment.
