Job summary

Thetford Academy, part of the Inspiration Trust, is seeking a Lead Teacher (SEMH SRB) to lead a dedicated Specialist Resource Base and develop high-quality provision for students with SEMH across a mainstream secondary setting.

You will work with the SENDCo and wider community to deliver inspirational teaching, lead support staff, and ensure tailored support helps every pupil flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

Qualifications

• QTS qualification and relevant degree for the award of QTS.
• Experience of quality first teaching or outstanding teaching in the relevant phases of education.
• Knowledge of SEN CoP (2015) and the Equalities Act (2010) and safeguarding requirements.
• Experience of supporting the needs of students with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SRB to deliver outstanding teaching and specialist SEND provision.
• Deliver a broad, ambitious curriculum aligned to EHCPs where applicable.
• Develop and review personalised learning plans with pupils, parents and carers.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate interventions to maximise outcomes.
• Support smooth transitions into, within and beyond the SRB.
• Build partnerships with parents, external agencies and professionals.
• Lead and support SRB staff with ongoing professional development.
• Maintain safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and pupil wellbeing to high standards.
• Contribute to wider academy activities and professional development.
