Job summary

Academics is partnering with inclusive and well-supported Secondary SEMH provisions in Todmorden and Roachdale that requries a Secondary SEMH Teacher to provide education and care for pupils aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

We're looking for a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teacher in Todmorden and Roachdale who can inspire confidence, rebuild trust in learning, and create positive change for young people who may have faced barriers to education.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS required; alternative routes considered with relevant experience.
• Proven SEMH experience in SEMH, PRU or similar settings.
• Demonstrates resilience, empathy and calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Belief in second chances and every child's potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative, practical SEMH lessons that engage learners.
• Implement restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management.
• Build strong, consistent relationships to support emotional and academic development.
• Collaborate with therapists, mentors and support staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Track progress and celebrate achievements for pupils aged 7-18.
