Lead Teacher for Literacy

Start Date: 1st September 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational Literacy Lead and Class Teacher to join our dedicated team here at Glenmead Primary School. We are a GOOD school and provide a caring environment where every child matters. We are a 1 form entry maintained primary school, judged to be good by OFSTED, having been inspected in June 2022. If we are to sustain our best practice, finding the right people to help us on our journey is crucial. If you are a talented professional; enthusiastic, motivated, innovative and have excellent interpersonal skills, we would like you to come and work with our children and families and become part of the Glenmead team.

The leadership team are experienced and supportive and are mindful of workload. They are able to offer in-house professional development as well as actively encouraging wider CPD opportunities. As a Literacy Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping and developing our established curriculum; inspiring our pupils to achieve their best.
We are an inclusive school and are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate the skill to adapt the curriculum and teach pupils of all abilities, as well as being resilient enough to support the continued professional development of our hard-working team.

Key responsibilities:

Complete a Subject Leader Implementation Plan that complements and underpins the school’s School Development Plan

Monitor standards in teaching and learning in Literacy using a range of strategies.

Model good practice and support colleagues with implementing the curriculum and new initiatives.

Lead staff/curriculum/INSET meetings/Continuous Professional Development.

Analyse data and identify next steps for curriculum implementation.

Communicate with all stakeholders, including governors, on standards of attainment in Literacy.

Keep abreast of both local and national initiatives in your subject.
