Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions in Rugeley, Staffordshire is seeking a Systems Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of complex maritime systems. You will define and trace requirements, design architectures, and coordinate interfaces across software, mechanical and electrical domains.

You will lead cross-functional teams, support design reviews, ensure compliance with safety standards, and drive verification, validation and in-service support while promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Proven experience in systems engineering and requirements management of complex systems.
• Proficiency with industry-leading requirements management tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills for validating and optimising requirements.
• Familiarity or experience in supporting of test definitions, planning and execution.
• Involvement in stakeholder engagement for resolving technical issues and managing expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication / collaboration skills.
• Experience with data processing and data management IT systems / software including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Management: Plan and manage the full lifecycle from concept to retirement.
• Requirements Engineering: Analyse stakeholder needs and ensure traceability and validation.
• System Architecture & Design: Develop architectures with traceability to requirements.
• Interface Management: Define and control internal and external interfaces.
• Technical Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate outputs.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to regulations and safety standards.
• Integration & Verification: Plan and execute system integration and verification activities.
• System Validation: Plan and facilitate formal validation with acceptance authority.
• Support & Sustainability: Plan for in-service support and end-of-life disposal.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive CI and promote best practices.
• Consistency & Cultural Alignment: Align with company processes.
• Tools and Methodologies: Use requirements tools to maintain traceability.
