Job summary

Our client, an established engineering organisation in Hampshire, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a specialist team delivering bespoke, high-performance systems for offshore and subsea environments.

You will work across the full lifecycle—from concept to integration and delivery—coordinating software, electronics, mechanical and systems engineering activities, with exposure to CAD and Jira, and potential UK/international travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with customers and stakeholders in technical environments.
• Fault finding, root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• System integration and software-led systems across hardware, firmware and software elements.
• Mechanical and/or analogue and digital electronics engineering background.
• Producing structured technical documentation.
• Managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Exposure to CAD and Jira for design and project tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and delivery of complex, custom-built systems and instrumentation.
• Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
• Coordinate work across software, electronics, mechanical and systems engineering teams.
• Support bid activity, including technical proposals, planning and effort estimation.
• Oversee system integration, verification and validation across hardware, firmware and software elements.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and test records.
• Identify and manage technical risks, providing updates to stakeholders.
