Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer based in Rugeley, Staffordshire to manage lifecycle processes, elicit and validate requirements, and design robust system architectures. You will lead cross-functional teams across software, mechanical, and electrical domains, ensuring interface integrity and traceability to design decisions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with MBSE and Jama Connect/Jira, and familiarity with defence/aerospace contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in systems engineering and requirements management of complex systems.
• Proficiency with requirements management tools and methodologies. Handling large data sets with integrity and configuration control.
• Strong analytical skills for validating and optimizing requirements.
• Experience in test planning, definitions, and execution (system/subsystem verification).
• Experience with stakeholder engagement to resolve technical issues and manage expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication / collaboration skills.
• Experience in security practices and handling sensitive information.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Familiarity with Jama Connect, Jira, MBSE, and defense/aerospace domains.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle management: Plan and support lifecycle model from concept to retirement.
• Requirements engineering: Elicit, validate, and trace requirements across development.
• System architecture & design: Develop architectures with traceability to requirements.
• Interface management: Define and control internal and external interfaces.
• Technical leadership: Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate outputs.
• Compliance & standards: Ensure adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Integration & verification: Plan and execute system/subsystem integration and testing.
• System validation: Plan and facilitate formal validation with acceptance authority.
• Support & sustainability: Plan in-service support and end-of-life disposal.
• Continuous improvement: Promote best practices and CI within Systems Engineering.
