Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in the United Kingdom to provide technical leadership across complex projects in safety-critical environments. The role spans systems integration, requirements management and lifecycle governance, with a focus on verification, validation and acceptance.

You will lead architecture development, reviews, risk assessment and documentation, while mentoring engineers and ensuring technical compliance in a hybrid working setup.

Qualifications

• Degree in systems, mechanical, electrical, control, software engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in systems integration, verification, validation and acceptance.
• Familiarity with requirements or systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Jama, SysML or UML.
• Knowledge of lifecycle processes, configuration control and governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and assure system architectures, interfaces and integration strategies.
• Manage requirements: capture, decomposition, allocation, traceability and compliance.
• Lead technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and assurance activities.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges through structured analysis and collaboration.
• Support risk management, hazard identification and safety-focused design.
• Oversee configuration management, baselines, interfaces and engineering change.
• Produce and review technical documentation, specs and verification evidence.
• Provide mentoring and guidance across the wider team.
