Job summary

TRIUMPH seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to drive the definition, development, integration, and certification of advanced hydro & electro-mechanical actuation and control systems across the lifecycle. You will guide suppliers, set technical direction, and ensure system integrity on a long-term development project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical/Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with DOORS / Polarion / Yama or equivalent.
• Experience with aerospace actuation systems or high-integrity systems.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering, architecture, integration, and V&V.
• Experience leading supplier technical activities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and interface specifications.
• Proven experience delivering programmes per DO-178 and DO-254.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level requirements definition, traceability, and validation, ensuring alignment with customer needs and regulatory expectations.
• Define system boundaries, operational concepts, and architectural frameworks for actuation and control systems.
• Own creation and control of system architectures, functional models, and interface definitions across mechanical, software, and electronics.
• Development of complex control systems within a secure and highly regulated defense environment.
• Provide technical oversight for actuation system design and integration (motors, sensors, electronics).
• Drive system-level trade studies, risk assessments, and decisions; act as technical authority for key programme decisions.
