Job summary

Thales in Templecombe, United Kingdom, is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to ensure products are designed and delivered to international safety standards and safely used by customers. The role plans and manages safety activities within bids and projects, driving hazard analyses and the development of safety and environmental requirements for IAS products throughout their lifecycle.

You will provide direction to design teams to implement safety features, maintain compliance with S&EM processes,

Qualifications

• Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• Safety credentials and training records.
• Chartered Engineer or member of a Professional Institution preferred.
• Postgraduate qualification in safety or environmental engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for S&EM design activities within IAS projects.
• Carry out hazard analysis, risk evaluation, and specify S&E requirements.
• Communicate reasoned safety arguments across disciplines.
• Maintain compliance with S&EM processes and procedures.
• Keep up to date with S&E standards and regulations.
• Plan and estimate costs of S&EM activities.
• Prepare hazard analyses and safety cases with valid arguments.
