Job summary

Referment partners with a leading UK construction and engineering business to appoint a Lead Sustainability Advisor who will drive sustainability, environmental excellence and social value across major infrastructure projects.

You will become the sustainability expert across a portfolio of projects, embedding best practice in environmental management, carbon reduction and social value from strategy through delivery.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in sustainability, environmental or social value roles.
• Direct experience in construction, infrastructure or civil engineering, ideally with a tier‑1 contractor.
• Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and frameworks such as ISO 14001/BREEAM.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability across multiple live projects and drive environmental compliance.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategy and carbon reduction initiatives.
• Embed responsible sourcing, resource efficiency and social value programs.
