Job summary

Ganymede Solutions in Surrey is seeking a Sub Agent to bridge site management and engineering functions on a major water infrastructure project. You will own day-to-day delivery across work packages, coordinate site teams, manage subcontractors, drive programme, and uphold quality and safety standards with a degree of autonomy.

Ideal candidates have proven Sub Agent or senior site engineering experience on civil/infrastructure schemes, with NEC contract knowledge and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Senior Site Engineer, or Section Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure schemes.
• Water sector experience desirable — treatment works, pipework, drainage, pumping stations, or similar
• Solid NEC contract knowledge including compensation events and early warnings
• Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing subcontractors
• Ability to monitor and drive programme delivery across multiple concurrent activities
• SMSTS, CSCS Black or Gold Card, and First Aid at Work
• EUSR Water Hygiene desirable
• Temporary Works Coordinator qualification desirable
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Taking day-to-day ownership of site operations across allocated work packages
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors, direct labour, and site teams
• Monitoring programme and production, identifying risks and taking corrective action early
• Reviewing and approving RAMS, ITPs, and method statements
• Administering NEC contract communications including compensation events and early warnings
• Maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards across all works
• Supporting the commercial team with cost monitoring, valuations, and change management
• Liaising with designers, client representatives, and stakeholders
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and site staff
