Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Nottingham for a hybrid role. You will own a portfolio of projects, lead the design team, and drive from concept to site, balancing client needs, fees and programme.

You'll work with steel, concrete, timber and masonry on schemes from small to £15m+, mentor graduates, and participate in client meetings. Chartered status is encouraged, with IStructE/ICE pathways supported by senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Around 4–5+ years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Experience designing building structures across different materials.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and lead teams.
• Familiar with Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds and Robot Structural Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and coordinate with the wider design team.
• Brief technicians and check drawings before issue.
• Attend client meetings and monitor programme, fees and technical delivery.
• Design and check calculations, develop concepts and reviews.
• Site inspections and visits as part of the role.
• Mentor graduates and junior engineers.
