Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Principal Maintenance Engineer (Streetlighting) to lead the Streetlighting team and develop the county’s lighting strategy. The role oversees assets, investment programmes and a maintenance contract, ensuring safe, cost-effective service delivery.

With a relevant electrical engineering qualification and experience in streetlighting, you will drive innovation, regulatory compliance and collaboration with planners, contractors and authorities to support

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in streetlighting design, asset management and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead Streetlighting service and technical team.
• Oversee streetlighting assets and investment programmes.
• Provide professional advice on streetlighting and electrical infrastructure.
• Manage the Streetlighting Term Maintenance Contract and service providers.
• Collaborate with authorities, consultants and stakeholders to support delivery.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
• Promote continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
