Job summary

Worcestershire County Council's Highways Operations Streetlighting team is seeking an experienced streetlighting leader to head a technical and professional team. You will oversee asset management, maintenance programmes, contracts and investment planning, and work with stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient lighting across Worcestershire.

The role requires a relevant Electrical Engineering qualification, ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma, and a proven track record in streetlighting design,

Qualifications

• Must hold relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, the ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma, or a closely related discipline.
• Thorough understanding of electrical regulations and health and safety legislation.
• Significant experience in design and design assessment, streetlighting asset management, contract management and service delivery.
• Ability to lead and develop professional teams across a county council streetlighting service.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the County Council's streetlighting service and technical team.
• Oversee the Council's streetlighting assets and associated investment programmes.
• Provide professional advice on streetlighting, illuminated signs and electrical infrastructure.
• Manage the Streetlighting Term Maintenance Contract and associated service providers.
• Work with developers, Local Planning Authorities, consultants and Members to support growth and infrastructure delivery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and industry standards.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement and best practice across the service.
• Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Balance strategic priorities with effective operational delivery.
