Job summary

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Lead Software Engineer – Software Reliability to design, build, and operate scalable, resilient systems using Python and modern reliability practices. You will apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve availability, performance, and operational excellence, and you will help establish engineering standards that increase system reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Hands-on design, development, testing and operational stability experience.
• Proficient coding in Python in a large corporate environment.
• Knowledge of SDLC, AWS cloud exposure, troubleshooting, resiliency, and automation.
• Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering concepts like monitoring and automated recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Python and SRE concepts.
• Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms.
• Create architecture/design artifacts ensuring constraints are met.
• Analyze data to develop visualizations and reporting for improvements.
• Identify data patterns to drive coding hygiene and architecture improvements.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery practices.
• Define and measure SLIs and SLOs to track system health.
• Conduct chaos engineering experiments to test resiliency.
• Perform performance testing with tools like JMeter.
• Collaborate with product teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis.
