Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to lead SLT input for Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction and chronic cough within the complex breathlessness service at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. The role involves autonomous practice, advanced assessment, and close MDT collaboration.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registration, CPD including recent post-graduate training relevant to clinical specialty, RCSLT membership.
• Desirable: Postgraduate degree relevant to clinical area, Leadership training, Clinical Educators Course attendance.
• Experience essential: post-graduate experience in relevant clinical areas, caseload management, and training of staff.
• Experience of audits and working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced assessment and treatment of patients with ILO.
• Provide specialist SLT input within the respiratory MDT.
• Deliver training to the wider MDT as required.
