Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Sous Chef / Second Chef for Larkhill Garrison, Wiltshire. You will lead a busy kitchen team, ensure high culinary standards, and work closely with front-of-house to deliver excellent service.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff and maintaining strict hygiene and safety compliance on site. Applicants should have NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, strong IT and menu planning skills, and a collaborative, proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a busy kitchen.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of senior colleagues and guide the team.
• Supervise commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff for smooth operations.
• Assist with ordering, prep, stock control, service running and clean-down duties.
• Maintain EH0 guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
• Maximise stock usage and demonstrate culinary innovation when needed.
• Collaborate with FOH to ensure seamless service.
• Develop talent alongside your kitchen team and provide training.
• Oversee sanitation and hygiene standards across the team.
• Prepare and present food to the highest culinary standards.
