Job summary

The Commercial Hotel in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead everyday kitchen operations across restaurant, functions and events, working with the Head Chef and Front of House to deliver great guest experiences.

You will mentor the team, manage pass and stock, ensure HACCP and food hygiene standards, and help design daily specials. A Level 2 food hygiene certificate and strong organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 food hygiene certificate and knowledge of current legislation (HACCP/COSHH)
• Strong organisational and management skills in a busy kitchen
• Experience in both restaurant service and event/function kitchen
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
• Plan and supervise daily specials with the Head Chef
• Mentor and develop kitchen team members
• Manage stock, food costs and pass discipline
• Ensure hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards across the kitchen
• Coordinate with front of house to ensure smooth service
• Maintain records and uphold quality and presentation standards
