Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in Blackburn is recruiting a Reporting Sonographer (NHS AfC Band 7) on a permanent basis. Roles available as full-time or part-time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary range £49,387 - £56,515 per annum.

The post involves ultrasound examinations across obstetric, general abdominal, vascular and other specialties, with teaching and training of students, and opportunities to contribute to service development within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Essential: MSC/PGD Ultrasound or Vascular science qualification or equivalent.
• Proven IT literacy and ability to use RIS and imaging equipment.
• Experience with MDT working and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-quality ultrasound service across obstetric, gynaecological, general abdominal and vascular exams.
• Register and input data into RIS accurately and efficiently.
• Train and support student sonographers and junior staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Promote infection control, equipment maintenance and adherence to departmental protocols.
