Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Atlas On Premise and Next Generation Infrastructure team in the UK.

The role focuses on delivering a first-class private cloud offering, enabling multiple hypervisors, and ensuring a consistent end-user experience across on-premise and public cloud environments. You will lead design, development, and optimization of cloud infrastructure with AI tooling and DevOps/SRE practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts or equivalent experience.
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted software development tools.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows; secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Proficiency in coding in Java or GoLang, or other modern languages.
• Experience with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions across design, development, and troubleshooting, tackling complex problems.
• Create secure, high-quality production code for private cloud infrastructure.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications throughout the SDLC.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK, Ireland, and US to deliver scalable services.
• Contribute to software engineering communities and events.
• Champion a team culture of inclusion and respect.
