Job summary

Mettler Toledo AG in Salford is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to set the technological direction for a major platform. You will lead the Linux platform efforts, collaborate with remote teams, and work with the latest tools and technologies to deliver scalable solutions.

You will guide the development team, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure alignment of platform and application requirements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience providing technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of Linux platform development and integration with Windows environments.
• Proven ability to elicit requirements and produce technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, advice and guidance to the development team on Linux platform development.
• Collaborate with remote platform development teams to align platform and application needs.
• Keep application teams updated with platform developments and roadmaps.
• Develop platform architecture for Debian-based Linux and related applications.
• Elicit requirements, generate specifications, and maintain technical documentation.
• Monitor evolving technologies and methodologies; identify and address defects with QA.
