As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Prime Finance Services, you are an integral part of a global team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

As a member of our Prime Finance Technology Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your stakeholders to stay focused on common goals. The team is driving the transformation of the equity financing platform and you will contribute to a broad range of projects, from tackling large-scale enterprise engineering challenges with Kafka or AMPS, to building real-time inventory trading platforms in Java and KDB+/q, and developing UI in React.

We are a fast-paced, high-energy team based in London, NY, Mumbai, Bangalore, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Job Responsibilities

1. Design and develop innovative software solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and think beyond routine approaches to build or improve systems.
2. Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
3. Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
4. Lead evaluation sessions to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and system applicability.
5. Promote an innovative and collaborative culture.
6. Contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team environment.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with practical experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring framework.
• Knowledge of industry technology trends and best practices.
• Open-mindedness and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Proficiency in software applications and technical processes, including cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• UI development experience with C# and React JS is preferable.
• Experience with cloud deployment, design, and development is preferable.
• Experience in application and data design, especially with real-time processing and delivery using Kafka, AMPS, or FIX protocol is preferable.
• Understanding of Prime Finance, particularly Equity Finance, Locate, and Positions Management, is preferable.
