Job summary

Agilis Recruitment is partnering with an innovative global technology organisation to recruit a Lead Software Engineer for Cheltenham Spa / Remote. The role focuses on building scalable software in C#/.NET, AWS, APIs and event-driven architectures, with AI-assisted tooling to enable faster development.

You will mentor engineers, perform code reviews and contribute to the delivery of robust backend services and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Commercial Software Engineering experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience as a Senior/Lead engineer acting as a technical Lead.
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs.
• Understanding of event-driven, asynchronous or service-based architectures.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews.
• Ability to work from technical documentation and requirements.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical Lead, mentoring engineers and performing code reviews.
• Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET.

• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies.
• Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems.
• Support UI development using Blazor where required.

• Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, as part of the development process.

You’ll be working on modern, scalable software across C#/.NET, AWS, APIs, event-driven architecture and distributed systems, with genuine scope to influence how the platform evolves.
