Job summary

Agilis Recruitment is partnering with a global technology organisation to hire a Lead Software Engineer for C# / .NET. The role combines hands-on backend development with technical leadership across modern cloud-based services and APIs.

You'll work on event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and AI-assisted engineering, mentoring engineers and shaping the next generation of the core platform. Hybrid UK-based role with remote options.

Qualifications

• Commercial Software Engineering experience with C# and .NET
• Experience as a Senior/Lead engineer acting as a technical Lead
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs
• Understanding of event-driven, asynchronous or service-based architectures
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews
• Ability to work from technical documentation and requirements
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical lead, mentoring other Engineers and performing code reviews
• Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET
• Develop backend services, APIs and event-driven applications
• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies
• Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems
• Support UI development using Blazor where required
• Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews
• Troubleshoot issues and support production systems
• Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, as part of the development process

You’ll be working on modern, scalable software across C#/.NET, AWS, APIs, event-driven architecture and distributed systems, with genuine scope to influence how the platform evolves. The business is also embracing AI-assisted engineering, giving developers access to modern tools and approaches to build better software, faster.
