Job summary

SAS in Glasgow is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the Risk and Fraud R&D team, with emphasis on hands-on design and delivery for the SAS Stress Testing product. You will drive technical excellence and collaboration across stakeholders while maintaining high-quality, scalable code.

You will mentor the team, set standards, and ensure secure, compliant software across browsers and platforms. This hybrid role offers flexible work arrangements and opportunities to influence SAS product

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5-8 years IT experience in Banking or Insurance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or related.
• Experience with IT technologies to support Finance and Risk development processes.
• Experience leading projects to deliver high quality, scalable, performant and secure code.
• Experience in CI/CD and DevOps using GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Agile practices.
• Experience in multiple development languages (SAS, Python, Go, JavaScript, React).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Certificates in Risk Management and Accounting Standards valued.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, prioritize, and assign resources to deliver high quality software within timelines.
• Lead development project designs and enforce technical standards across environments.
• Lead test management activities, manage risks, and continue investment in test automation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and aligned with standards.
• Manage scoping and scheduling; track progress and communicate concerns to leadership.
• Maintain lifecycle accountability of code for internal and external consumers.
• Ensure design and technical documentation accuracy for all consumers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
