Job summary

Elysium Healthcare Limited in Liverpool is seeking a Lead Social Worker to oversee the social work team at Victoria Gardens, a specialist rehabilitation unit for service users with complex mental health needs. You will manage a challenging caseload, perform assessments and contribute to tribunals while mentoring junior staff.

You will promote adult safeguarding, empower recovery, and work within a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans and ensure best interests decisions are made.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a caseload of service users with complex mental health needs.
• Undertake assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals and Managers Hearings.
• Supervise junior staff members and provide quality supervision and appraisal.
• Lead adult safeguarding initiatives and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with MDTs and external agencies to meet statutory duties.

Are you a Lead Social Worker looking to join a company that values and recognises you? If so, join the team at Victoria Gardens in Huyton, a specialist rehabilitation for Service Users with complex mental health needs and help people in their recovery journey to develop new skills and build a brighter future.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will manage and support a caseload of up to service users with mental health conditions. You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members.

As a manager of the team, you will lead and promote adult safeguarding and will empower recovery to encourage service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As a Social Worker You Will Be

• Supporting the social work team to take the lead on adult safeguarding.
• Deputising for Lead social worker in quality assurance meetings.
• Supporting the social work team to deliver Safeguarding induction and update training across the Hospital.
• Leading the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions.
• Delivering quality supervision and appraisal to junior and senior social workers in the Team.
• Liaising with external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, CMHT, FIND, FOLS, Police and Probation.
• Supporting carers and families of detained patients

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need

• A Social Work qualification
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation
• Have at least 3-4 years’ experience of working in a similar environment

Where you will be working

Location: Victoria Road,Huyton,Liverpool,L36 5SA

You will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist rehabilitation for Service Users with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge. You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence.

The service is a recovery based service and incorporate elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions. We have a full multidisciplinary team (MDT) with Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.
