Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is partnering with a leading European construction and engineering business to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a large-scale solar PV project in West Kent. You will oversee day-to-day site delivery, coordinate contractors, and ensure safety, quality and on-time completion.

Key responsibilities include leading site teams, monitoring progress, managing RAMS and permits, and maintaining site documentation while aligning with project milestones and HSE

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar within utility-scale solar PV or large-scale renewable energy construction.
• Strong experience coordinating construction sites and subcontractors within an EPC or construction environment.
• Previous experience on large-scale solar PV projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, site coordination and project delivery.
• Experience managing RAMS, permits, inspections and site documentation.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction HSE requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple site activities and resolve issues effectively. CSCS Black Card or equivalent senior site management qualification is highly desirable.
• Willingness to be site-based in West Kent.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day site management of a utility-scale solar PV project.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, site teams and construction activities.
• Ensure construction works are delivered in accordance with the project programme and agreed milestones.
• Monitor site progress, identifying delays, risks and issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Manage and coordinate site resources, plant, materials and deliveries.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, permits and project procedures.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, environmental and quality standards across the site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and construction quality.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, commercial and HSE teams to resolve site issues.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure contractual and project requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and construction documentation.
• Lead regular site meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks and key issues.
• Support the resolution of technical, construction and programme-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, construction standards and project requirements.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the project.
