Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is partnering with a leading European construction and engineering business to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a large-scale solar PV project in Dundee. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, coordinate contractors and site teams, and ensure works are delivered on programme and to the required quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar within utility-scale solar PV or large-scale renewable energy construction.
• Strong experience managing construction sites and subcontractors within an EPC or construction environment.
• Previous experience working on large-scale solar PV projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day site management of a utility-scale solar PV project.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, site teams and construction activities.
• Ensure construction works are delivered in accordance with the project programme and agreed milestones.
• Monitor site progress, identifying delays, risks and issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Manage and coordinate site resources, plant, materials and deliveries.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, permits and project procedures.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, environmental and quality standards across the site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and construction quality.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, commercial and HSE teams to resolve site issues.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure contractual and project requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and construction documentation.
• Lead regular site meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks and key issues.
• Support the resolution of technical, construction and programme-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, construction standards and project requirements.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the project.

Job description

TGRC is partnering with a leading European construction and engineering business with a growing presence in the UK.

As the business continues to expand its portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the UK, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a large-scale solar PV project in Dundee.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the construction site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. You will lead site-based activities and coordinate contractors, subcontractors and site teams, working closely with the wider project management, engineering and HSE functions to ensure successful project delivery.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar within utility-scale solar PV or large-scale renewable energy construction.

• Strong experience managing construction sites and subcontractors within an EPC or construction environment.

• Previous experience working on large-scale solar PV projects is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of construction programmes, site coordination and project delivery.

• Experience managing RAMS, permits, inspections and site documentation.

• Strong knowledge of UK construction HSE requirements.

• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple site activities and resolve issues effectively.

• Relevant construction or site management qualifications.

• CSCS Black Card or equivalent senior site management qualification is highly desirable.

• Willingness to be site-based in Dundee.

• A hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of site delivery and drive progress.
