Job summary

Bellway, a leading UK housebuilder, is seeking a Site Manager for a high-volume residential development in West Sussex. You will report to the Construction Manager and oversee all aspects of the site, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-focused delivery within timescales.

You will lead on health and safety, material and labour coordination, and liaise with internal departments, NHBC/LABC, and customers to deliver homes that meet high standards of quality and service.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level (or equivalent).
• Valid SMSTS certificate.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Construction Management – HNC Level 4, HND Level 5 or NVQ Level 6 is desirable.
• Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate is desirable.
• Valid LOLER certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of the development and provide clear direction to those on site regarding responsibilities and targets.
• Implement health and safety procedures with Bellway Health and Safety Managers and ensure compliance.
• Maintain site presentation to high standards at all times.
• Attend external Health and Safety inspections and close out items promptly.
• Coordinate labour and resources to deliver the build programme on larger developments.
• Monitor material levels to ensure stock efficiency and program adherence.
• Liaise with internal departments, external suppliers and partners to achieve the build programme.
• Motivate and mentor site staff; provide toolbox talks, training and coaching as required.
• Ensure production requirements align with technical and planning documentation and instructions.
• Conform to building regulations and NHBC/LABC requirements; ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain site records including reports, labour, plant, materials, inductions and safety records.
• Collaborate with Sales to ensure smooth delivery of homes; conduct New Home demonstrations and tours.
