Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Senior Site Manager / No. 1 Site Manager to take full ownership of live schemes from groundworks to handover in Berkshire and Thames Valley. You will report to Contracts Manager and drive programmes, RAMS, inductions, and daily subcontractor coordination.

The role demands a hands-on, detail-oriented leader with a strong main contracting background in education refurbishments, civic builds or heritage/restoration. SMSTS/CSCS/First Aid at Work are required.

Qualifications

• Must be local to Newbury, Berkshire or surrounding areas to ensure reasonable daily travel.
• Proven track record as No. 1 Site Manager on schemes valued between £2M and £8M.
• Strong main contracting background across education refurbishments, D&B, civic builds, or heritage/restoration.

Responsibilities

• Full site ownership: drive programmes, RAMS, inductions, and daily sub-contractor coordination.
• Maintain strict quality assurance on high-spec joinery, refurbishment and architectural packages.
• Act as on-site face of the contractor, leading progress meetings with stakeholders.
• Maintain exemplary Health & Safety standards and site logistics.
