Lead Shift Engineer — Critical Environments & Data Centers

Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in London is seeking a Lead Shift Engineer to join the team on site. You will manage your own time, allocate works to team members, and oversee maintenance budgets to deliver critical environment services in line with client SLAs.

Responsibility includes ensuring all PPMs, statutory maintenance, and audits are completed, maintaining documentation, and providing technical reports to the Technical Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Electrician with Level 3 qualifications (apprenticeship, HND, C&G, NVQ).
• 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations - essential.
• Experience operating data centres/critical environments desirable.
• Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols.
• Understand monitoring of utilities and environmental programmes.
• IOSH or equivalent H&S training.
• Excellent contract/supplier management and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and proactive; confident decision maker.
• Understanding of water hygiene (L8) - desirable.
• Operational experience of UPS, Standby Power and Critical Environment Cooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage own time and allocate works to other team members.
• Manage costs related to maintenance activities (specialist and self-perform).
• Ensure client services, computer rooms, data networks meet SLAs.
• Operate dilapidation and update plans for critical environments.
• Plan statutory maintenance and testing and report audit results.
• Provide technical management reports as required.
• Provide emergency response standby/call-out.
• Monitor utilities management and environmental programmes.
• Support cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.
• Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
