Job summary

Mattinson Partnership are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support delivery of a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects across the UK, with a focus on East Anglia and Cambridge.

You will lead complex planning strategies, manage multidisciplinary project teams through feasibility, pre-application, and formal applications, and secure planning consent while balancing budgets, risks and timelines in a flexible hybrid arrangement with regular attendance at a Cambridge office.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in private sector planning consultancy or client-side development.
• Proven track record of securing planning permissions for complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management.
• Commercially minded with ability to balance planning, risk, budgets and timelines.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholder engagement.
• Interest in renewable energy and energy transition is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver planning strategies for complex projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams through feasibility, pre-application, and applications.
• Manage programmes, budgets, risks, and client expectations.
• Build relationships with clients, local authorities, consultees and stakeholders.
• Coordinate community engagement and site appraisals.
• Oversee post-consent matters and conditions discharge.
• Support growth of consultancy and renewable portfolio.
