The role sits within a growing Academy Trust and offers opportunities for professional development within a diverse community. You will lead PLPs, prepare EHCPs, and organise staff training.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS and SENCO qualification.
  • Experience coordinating SEND provision in a secondary school.
  • Able to coach and mentor others effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, organisation and the ability to prioritise effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all SEND support across the school.
  • Develop and implement the SEND Policy to ensure consistent high-quality responses.
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and pupil progress/update systems.
  • Provide specialist support for teachers and support staff.
  • Collaborate with parents, outside agencies and therapies (e.g. SALT, Educational Psychologists).
  • Lead in planning and writing Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) with targets for pupils.
  • Prepare Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Organise training for staff to meet pupils' needs.
