Job summary

Leicester City Council is seeking an experienced SIA Security Supervisor to lead security operations at De Montfort Hall and Haymarket Theatre in Leicester. The role focuses on safeguarding visitors, staff and performers while maintaining excellent customer service and regulatory compliance.

The post is permanent, full-time (37 hours) with shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, in a dynamic entertainment environment. A valid SIA licence and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• Significant supervisory or management experience in security.
• Experience in theatres, venues, arenas, or similar high-footfall environments.
• Strong understanding of crowd management and public safety.
• Knowledge of Martyn's Law requirements and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all security and car park personnel during events and daily operations.
• Ensure staffing levels through planning, scheduling, and resource deployment.
• Act as operational lead for security, crowd management, and incident response.
• Develop and review security strategies, plans and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Premises Licence, health & safety and security regulations.
• Implement and monitor Martyn's Law obligations and risk assessments.
• Review risk assessments, procedures and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with emergency services, authorities, security contractors and promoters.
• Manage recruitment, induction, training of casual staff.
• Conduct performance management, briefings and incident handling.
• Balance safety with positive visitor experience in all security operations.
• Produce reports and support audits and compliance.
