Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a kitchen supervisor at Aylestone School in Hereford to oversee the school kitchen operations, including food quality, menus, and team leadership. The role emphasizes cost control and adherence to safety standards within a high-volume environment.

You will train and mentor staff, manage resources efficiently, and ensure exceptional catering for students while maintaining professional conduct and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is required.
• Level 2 Food safety certificate is required.
• At least 1 year of hands-on cooking experience.
• Experience in training and supervising kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food and service quality.
• Manage replenishment of food and end-of-service cleanup.
• Develop, mentor, and train the kitchen team.
• Control labour, food and stock costs for the operation.
• Create and develop school menus with consistency in standards.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure health, safety and quality compliance.
• Work with fresh produce and ingredients; adhere to health & safety procedures.
