Sodexo Ltd is recruiting for a school kitchen lead at St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School & Nursery in Stourport-on-Severn. You will manage all food & beverage operations, supervise staff, plan menus, and control costs to ensure top-quality service for students and staff.

The role requires experience with large-scale cooking, staff supervision, and strict adherence to health & safety. Term-time, 39 weeks, 35 hours/week, with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students).
• Experience following recipes in a school/kitchen setting.
• Experience supervising staff or line management.
• Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Professional attitude with leadership by example.
• Basic Level 2 Food Safety certification held.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience; training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety provided.

Responsabilités

• Oversee replenishment of food and end-of-service dismantling.
• Develop, mentor, train and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operations including labour, food and stock costs.
• Manage and optimise all controllable costs.
• Ensure consistent food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop school menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
