Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in the Data Platforms team within the Chief Data & Analytics Office. You will drive the design, development, and delivery of trusted market-leading technology in a secure, scalable way as part of an agile team.

Your focus includes Scala/Java, async runtimes, meta-modeling, and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and resiliency across the firm’s business functions.

Qualifications

• Formal software engineering background and advanced applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design and production-grade code.
• Practical experience with Scala and Java.
• Experience with asynchronous runtimes (e.g., Cats Effect).
• Ability to lead with AI-assisted software development tools and secure coding practices.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering of metadata, meta-modeling and distributed systems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review peers' work.
• Promote enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and speed.
• Apply SDLC tools to enhance automation and value delivery.
• Identify and remediate recurring issues to improve stability.
