Job summary

ao.com in Crewe is expanding into residential solar installations and is seeking experienced Scaffolders to deliver safe access solutions for customers across the UK.

You will erect and dismantle domestic scaffolds from the local depot, liaise with the Solar Installation Team, perform pre-work safety checks, load and organise equipment, and maintain a clean, professional site at occupied homes while meeting installation schedules.

Qualifications

• CISRS Scaffolder Blue Card required.
• Proven scaffolding experience.
• Experience erecting and dismantling domestic scaffolds.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good physical fitness and ability to carry out manual work.
• Positive attitude and strong team ethic.

Responsibilities

• Erect, adapt and dismantle domestic scaffolding on residential properties.
• Install temporary roof edge protection and safe access platforms.
• Work closely with Solar Installation Teams to ensure scaffolds meet job requirements.
• Load and unload scaffold equipment and ensure vehicles are organised and stocked.
• Carry out pre-work safety checks and identify site hazards.
• Inspect scaffold structures and ensure compliance with current regulations and company standards.
• Maintain a clean and professional working environment.
• Provide excellent customer service whilst working at occupied residential homes.
• Work efficiently to meet installation schedules without compromising safety.
• Support your mate and wider team to ensure jobs are completed right first time.

About The Role

£55,000 | Permanent | Crewe

Join AO's New Solar Installation Team

We're building something new.

As AO expands into residential solar installations, we're looking for experienced Scaffolders to help us deliver safe access solutions for customers across the UK.

This isn't large commercial projects or long-term site work. You'll be working on domestic properties, erecting and dismantling scaffolds that allow our Solar Installation Teams to safely install rooftop solar systems.

We're looking for scaffolders who take pride in their work, work safely, and understand the importance of representing a trusted brand in customers' homes.

A Typical Day

You'll start from your local depot, collect your materials and head out with your mate to residential customer properties. You'll install the required scaffold, liaise with the Solar Team, ensure everything is safe and compliant, and move on to the next job. Once installation work is complete, you'll return to dismantle and clear the scaffold.

No two days are the same, but every day you'll play a key part in helping customers switch to renewable energy.

Here\'s What You Can Expect To Be Doing
