Care First UK Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a confidential client to appoint an experienced Registered Manager for a brand-new Children’s Residential Home in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The role focuses on establishing strong governance, safeguarding, and therapeutic care for children with EBD.

You will lead Ofsted registration, develop policies, recruit and build a skilled team, and drive operational success from day one.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing a children’s residential home or similar service for EBD.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements.
• Track record of achieving positive regulatory outcomes (Good/Outstanding).
• Experience developing policies, procedures and care frameworks for children in residential care.
• Proven leadership in staff recruitment, training, supervision and performance management.
• Established relationships with Local Authorities, Children’s Services and commissioners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup of a brand-new children’s home and achieve Ofsted registration.
• Develop and implement Ofsted-compliant policies and therapeutic care frameworks.
• Recruit, train and mentor a dedicated residential care team.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintain high standards of care.
• Ensure safeguarding and the needs of children drive all decision-making.
• Build relationships with Local Authorities and commissioning teams to support referrals.
• Manage occupancy, budgets and drive financial sustainability.
• Establish monitoring systems for continuous quality improvement.
