Job summary

Wilderness Way in Appleby, UK, is seeking a Registered Manager for Children’s Residential services. You will oversee two Ofsted-registered homes, lead a small, relationship-based care model, and manage shifts, registrations, and staff development within a supportive team.

The role requires a minimum of two years in children’s residential care or related settings, plus Level 5 qualifications or commitment to attain them. A full UK driving license and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in children’s residential care, social work or secure care in the last 5 years.
• Strong understanding of SCCIF and care regulations.
• Level 5 qualification or willingness to work towards it.
• Resilient, relationship-focused leadership style.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing two Ofsted-registered solo homes, each with individual registrations.
• 2:1 relationship based care.
• Set shifts and a full year’s rota.
• Operational Manager supporting you day to day.
• Assistant Managers in each dual registration.
• HRBP, Recruiters and Compliance teams, and Learning Partner helping staff complete L3 qualifications.
• Quality & Safeguarding Team empowering you with safeguarding advice and compliance support.
• Referrals Team: matching the right children to the right home.
