Job summary

Turning Point is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner to join our North East Lincolnshire service. You will oversee a small team of Recovery Workers, provide expert guidance, and lead on complex cases with a focus on harm reduction and safeguarding.

The role involves MDT participation, outreach support, and deputy responsibilities for the Team Leader when needed. We offer a starting salary of £29,244 with progression up to £33,880, with structured learning and clear career pathways to develop

Qualifications

  • Exceptional report writing and case notes.
  • Demonstrable experience in working within a substance use treatment and recovery setting.
  • Specialist depth knowledge of one or more complexities alongside substance use (e.g., mental health, homelessness, violence).
  • Understanding of risk and risk management in relation to substance use and complexity.
  • Significant experience of working in health and social care.
  • Desirable qualifications include RMN, Social Work, psychology, Youth Work or other relevant qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of no more than 2 Recovery Workers; provide one-to-one support and develop practice.
  • Support a team of Recovery Workers during outreach; ensure safety and adhere to Lone Working policy.
  • Complete a generic monthly audit of a Recovery Worker case and discuss outcomes in supervision.
  • Handle case management for people with higher levels of complexity; adjust as needed.
  • Prioritise Harm Reduction in case work and record in the case management system.
  • Oversee issues related to the people we support when Recovery Workers are on leave.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies and act as first point of contact.
  • Participate in weekly MDTs to support Recovery Workers and guide treatment plans.
  • Deputise for the Team Leader in their absence and chair MDT meetings when needed.
  • Engage in training to develop and maintain leadership skills.
  • Chair multi-agency meetings in the absence of the Team Leader; safeguard guidance as needed.
