Job summary

Skyral, based in Warminster, Wiltshire, is seeking a modelling engineer to build and refine high‑fidelity simulation models used in training environments. You will work with cross‑disciplinary teams, own a primary modelling area such as capability & effects or environment, and mentor others while delivering real‑time components for military simulations.

You will contribute across domains, working onsite five days a week, and collaborate with engineers to ensure performance and usability meet

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and systems thinking mindset with architectural decision making.
• Experience across multiple modelling domains and mentoring others.
• Ability to set technical direction and define modelling approaches.
• Balance performance, fidelity and scalability under constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt models based on data, SME input, and training needs.
• Implement behavioural logic, effects, interactions and environmental responses efficiently.
• Tune models to balance fidelity, performance and scalability.
• Design models to be reusable and composable within a broader simulation ecosystem.
• Ensure models remain coherent when integrated with other components and systems.
• Integrate models with terrain, environment and external systems (e.g. HLA, DIS, APIs).
• Collaborate with Simulation Integration Engineers and others; mentor junior engineers.
• Take ownership of a primary modelling area while contributing across domains.
