Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited is seeking a hands-on Plant Supervisor to oversee the ReadyMix operations at Agecroft Concrete Plant in Salford. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will manage day-to-day production, contractor activities, and costs while ensuring safety, quality and customer service standards.

You will drive a positive safety culture, monitor KPIs, batch to customer specifications, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial or heavy industry environment.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Experience working with Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive approach to performance improvement and customer service.
• Experience in ReadyMix, aggregates, construction materials (preferred).
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification advantageous.
• NVQ in fixed or mobile plant operations advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the ReadyMix plant including contractor activities
• Promote and drive a positive safety culture across site
• Manage daily production operations, stock levels and operational costs
• Ensure efficient concrete production to required quality standards
• Monitor and improve plant performance through KPIs
• Resolve operational and customer queries in a timely manner
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and site standards
• Batch concrete to customer specifications whilst meeting internal quality requirements
• Manage both fixed and variable site costs in line with budget expectations
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
