Job summary

Siemens Mobility is recruiting a Lead Control Systems Engineer to join the Rail Infrastructure team based in Derby. You will lead the design, integration and delivery of Railway Traffic Management Systems across the full project life cycle, from bids to commissioning and ongoing support.

Industry experience with signalling systems, controls and data management will be essential, along with membership of a recognised Engineering Institution and an engineering qualification such as HNC/HND.

Qualifications

• Good background in System Engineering technical systems.
• Membership of a relevant Engineering Institution
• HNC/HND in Engineering or related subject
• Experience in Railway Signalling Systems including VDU Control Centres, TD’s and TDM
• Experience with AWS, Mendix and GitLab (desirable).
• Knowledge and experience of Railway Control Systems and/or Operations (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver Railway Traffic Management Systems
• Developing system requirements and end user requirements
• Managing the delivery of data production and checking
• Being responsible for Lead System and Integration Testing
• Participating in FRACAS and problem‑solving issues post commissioning and lead solution across teams
• Ensuring the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of work, in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved
