Job summary

Amey is seeking a Lead Senior Civil Engineer to lead the assessment of rail structures, including bridges, tunnels and depots. You will provide technical leadership, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance in line with Amey processes and client requirements.

The role offers hybrid working with minimum 3 days in the office, opportunities to mentor staff, and a clear path to senior positions such as Principal Civil Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng/IEng) or working towards through ICE/CIHT/IStructE is preferred.
• Extensive experience with railway structures inspection, assessment and design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check technical assessment/design remits, calculations, reports and drawings to standards.
• Provide on-site technical leadership during inspections/examinations where needed.
• Maintain high standards per Technical Specification and Amey IMS/health, safety and environment requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior staff in drawings, reports and calculations."
• Support staff training and development to achieve professional qualifications.
