Job summary

Senior Paint Sprayer position in Newport, UK, combining hands-on spray painting with team leadership. You will oversee painting tasks for trains and trams, ensuring adherence to special process standards and high-quality output.

You will manage paint stores, lead a team of sprayers, and drive improvements in efficiency, safety, and waste reduction, while maintaining strict health and safety compliance. Role requires experience in industrial painting, proficiency with electrostatic and HVLP

Qualifications

• Significant experience in paint spraying, with supervisory experience.
• Experience with electrostatic, air-assisted and HVLP systems.
• Strong knowledge of painting materials and surface preparation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality spray-painting on trains and trams meeting standards.
• Lead a team of paint sprayers; mentor staff and ensure training.
• Oversee the painting process and ensure 5S in the workspace.
• Manage paint stores, stock levels and procurement coordination.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality checks.
• Coordinate schedules with Production Manager to optimise resources.
• Promote continuous improvement and root-cause analysis techniques.
