Job summary

CAF Rolling Stock UK is seeking an experienced Senior Paint Sprayer to lead the Newport manufacturing team. You will oversee end-to-end painting processes on trains and trams, coach a team of sprayers, ensure high-quality finishes, and uphold safety and CAF standards.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in industrial paint spraying, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of spray-painting techniques, equipment and surface preparation.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of stock control and materials management.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, health & safety requirements and continuous improvement principles.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within the rail industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and compliance processes.
  • Experience with electrostatic painting and other advanced spray-painting techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out high-quality spray painting on trains and trams, ensuring work meets customer, quality and specification requirements.
  • Lead and support a team of Paint Sprayers, providing guidance, coaching and on-the-job training.
  • Manage painting activities from preparation through to final finish, ensuring processes are followed and standards maintained.

  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure all work meets CAF standards.
  • Work closely with Production Managers and Team Leaders to deliver projects safely, on time and to budget.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and reduce waste

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Paint Sprayer to join our Newport manufacturing team. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering high-quality paint finishes on trains and trams while supporting and developing a team of Paint Sprayers. You will oversee the end-to-end painting process, maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the paint operation.

Key Responsibilities
