You will drive process improvement, manage materials, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while delivering efficient project schedules and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in spray painting, including leadership experience.
  • Experience with diverse spray techniques and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of painting materials and surface prep.
  • Experience managing stock levels and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards in regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and mentor staff.
  • Experience implementing 5S and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out high-quality spray-painting work on trains and trams, meeting customer specifications.
  • Lead a team of paint sprayers, providing guidance and mentoring junior staff.
  • Oversee the painting process from start to finish and maintain 5S in the workspace.
  • Manage paint stores, order materials, and coordinate with procurement.
  • Ensure adherence to special process standards and quality controls.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager to align schedules across projects.
  • Maintain health and safety, PPE compliance, and safe working practices.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce waste and improve process efficiency using root-cause analysis.
